COMPUTATIONAL PHYSICS GROUP RESEARCH

  • My undergraduate topic - PERCOLATION - a phase transition (UNSW).
  • My graduate - MAGNETISM - Ising and Heisenberg models (UNSW) and anomalous hopping in semiconductors (UNC).
  • My postgraduate - Series expansions and Monte Carlo simulations (Technion and TAU), modelling helium (Technion).
  • A crisis - applied math/numerical training at the Technion - poor.
  • Change of focus - from series expansions to condensed matter, molecular dynamics.
  • All the time - collaboration with experimentalists - leads to interesting topics - drop formation, melting, flow in nanotubes, vibrations of nanotubes ... all at Technion.
  • Visits to the USA - solid molecular hydrogen (DUKE), roughening transitions (UW-SEATTLE).
