The links below will enable you to download pdfs
within the Technion firewall. Students
experiencing problems may ask the librarians for help.
EUROPHYSICS NEWS: http://www.europhysicsnews.org/
SCIENTIFIC AMERICAN: http://www.scientificamerican.com/physics
COMPUTING in SCIENCE and ENGINEERING:
http://cise.aip.org/ - The computer simulations section is often suitable, the articles on Computer Science less so.
PHYSICAL SCIENCES from NATURE:
Each student gives a talk of about 45 minutes plus 5 minutes question time.
The level should be between Physics Today/Europhysics News and Scientific American. If you select a review paper from elsewhere, it is your responsibility to
bring it to the correct level. Nobel prizes of the last 20 years in Physics or maybe Chemistry are suitable, as are review articles from the abovelisted Journals. A few topics and links are listed above.
Each talk's topic, outline and sources
must be approved by Dr Adler in advance.
You may not talk on a topic you gave in a lab report, project or previous session of this or a similar course. If you are attending for the second time, you may not select a topic given by another student the last time you attended.
